What to expect

Laser tattoo removal can be intimidating, buts its really not as bad as most think. You don’t need to do a lot to prepare, but here are some helpful tips.

Relax, it is a very fast process!

We are here to help you get through it. Most sessions are under five minutes. We use very cold air to help relieve discomfort.

Happy skin is key!

• Don’t sunbathe before. If you have been sunburnt recently it is not recommended to get lasered. This will just cause blistering and more trauma to the skin that isn’t necessary.
• Drink water, eat, sleep. None of this is mandatory… but for overall happiness and comfort... we advise it. Show up with a smile, we have lollipops, stickers, and a joke or two to share 🙂
• Be in good health. If you are sick, we don’t recommend being lasered.

Pain.

Being in the laser tattoo removal business for a decade teaches you a lot about pain.

Some folks handle it better than others.

Laser can be very intimidating, but we got you. We can make it as close to pain free as possible. First, it's very quick. Most tattoos are seconds to minutes of laser. Yep, you read that right. We also use a zimmer chimmer that blows cold air simultaneously during the process. Fancy for sure. Another great affordable option that works is numbing cream. You can use any kind you prefer. We have TXTK in our office. The key is application!

Apply a coat 1.5 to 2 hours before treatment.‍

Don’t rub it in. Place a piece of plastic wrap on the area. We will take it off in the office and clean the skin before your treatment. Most bottles online are $15 to $25 and last 2 to 4 sessions depending on the size of your tattoo. It SUPER WORKS. So don’t fret. There are options and we are here to make this as easy as we can for you, and as pain free as possible. Please do not use it if you have any allergies to lidocaine, tetracaines, or any other numbing agents. We are not responsible for skin reactions. We always suggest doing a small test spot.

Now that all your ink-free desires are complete, here's a few things to keep in mind.

Avoid the sun for as long as possible. Laser makes the skin more sensitive to UV rays. Being aware of the sun is the first key. Wear sunscreen if you are enjoying the outdoors, a loose fitting t-shirt a couple days after a freshly lasered tattoo is helpful and recommended as well. Don’t sunbathe without covering and protecting your investment.

Some sluffy, scabby stuff is normal!

• Wash with cool soapy water, keep the area clean and use aloe. After a couple of days it should just feel sore to the touch. Aloe, vitamin E, and coconut oil are all good options to nourish the treated skin in between treatments. But not necessary.
• Exfoliation and Massage. Laser breaks down the ink that sits in a semi liquid form in the skin. Bringing blood flow to the area lasered is a helpful way to promote and help out your white blood cells who are busy doing all the work. Lightly exfoliating the area, and gentle massage are a cheap and effective way to make the most out of your laser session.
• If you experience blisters larger than a dime, you can pop them with a CLEAN lancet and gently press out the fluid. Keep the area clean and use an antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin.
